![]() Not even when i first saw it in 72.It is a Disney classic that Leonard Maltin needs to convince Disney to re lease it for t.c.m cable broad casting.Many of the fans includes blacks who except their past,not necessarily self loathing ,but progressive types,although the conservative types will exploit it.Song of the south is a good classic film from Disney. I was one of the few whites in the theater.Not one of the black audiences were complaining about it. It's true that political conservative might take a film of the past and exploit it for their power.This is an abuse of history.I don't go after the film ,I go after the politician.Censorship in the name of tolerance does not promote tolerance, action does.I remember seeing a reissue of it in 86.There were a lot of black children and adults. It's the past.I'm not sympathetic toward it ,but, I except it. My past and all other minority's past that was against us I don't get offend at. Although I was a kid when the movement started. In the past in Germany films reflected the third Reich.In Russia's past Stalin and Lenin.We have to except and tolerate the past ,even though many of it was wrong.I am a minoritan myself.I except the past and it's reflection against me. ![]() ![]() Even in the race film biz the good guys were light skin bad guys dark. It isn't just song of the south that reflects the racism of the past.All films of family film making Hollywood for the 1910's up until the civil rights movement and slightly afterwards reflected our forefathers slavery and later segregation. ![]()
